We love the holidays - spending time with our loved ones, enjoying our favorite traditions, and more. However, it can be super stressful as well, and since many of us have time off of work and school around the holiday season, it's also a great time to travel!
And really, isn't a holiday vacation the best gift of all? And it's not too late to book Christmas/Hanukkah holiday travel. We've got some ideas if you're in need of inspiration.
A Tropical Getaway
While much of the Caribbean is sadly affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, there are lots of options along the U.S. and Mexican coastlines that didn't suffer. Or head further south into Central America.
A Country Cabin
If you're a city dweller, it can be excellent to escape to the fresh air and clear skies of the country for a bit - and if you have kids they'll probably love it! Skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, ice skating, and just hanging out in the pristine wilderness all make for an excellent and relaxing holiday. Think mountains or forested areas - and it could be fun to go somewhere snowy and have a white Christmas if you live in the south!
A City Break
On the other hand, checking out how different cities celebrate the holiday season can be an awesome way to spend the holidays as well. For instance, Christmas in New York City is always magical, or try Miami or San Diego if you're tired of the cold weather.
A Road Trip
Even if you're planning on visiting family during the holidays, you can make getting there half the fun with a road trip to where they live. Map out some fun pit stops and make an adventure out of it!
Taking a cruise might be the most relaxing vacation option of all! You don't have to plan anything once you choose your cruise line and individual voyage, and you get to be on a boat, which makes everything better.
Being "home for the holidays" can be overrated. Why not use any vacation you have for an adventure!
